A Poem

                Left Field

Manny Ramirez once caught a fly ball
for out two
and tossed it to a fan
instead of throwing to second.

He even jogged halfway to the dugout
before he realized his mistake.

Manny was like that.

(He thought he had the third out,
Just in case you don’t know baseball
or never heard of Manny.)

This is the first poem I’ve actually written down in more than 15 years. It just came to me a couple of months ago, and I liked it so much I didn’t want to lose it.

I have a longer post at Sourcerer about a project Diana, Sam, and I kicked off last night.

About Gene'O

  2. Gene'O says:

    Thanks, Professor 🙂

  3. You know how I feel about the Bo Sox, but I’ve always adored Manny. Bonus points for this being one of my favorite Manny Moments.

  4. […] and the full series is available in a category at Part Time Monster. I also published a poem and an update on our project to build a multi-network blog […]
